Flag and a tag

On Saturday, Ben and I went up to Flagstaff to visit with Ben's parents (and we both were really craving Dara Thai, yum!). We had nice time with Ben's parents and talking to them and enjoyed the last bit of snow we could get (it snowed while we were there)!

But we couldn't stay long and had to leave Sunday night. We went down 87 through Payson on the way home. The roads were quite icy for a while, but it wasn't very wet so we didn't skid too much.

Although, we didn't skid much, we were glad when the roads were finally free of ice.

I believe we were in between Strawberry and Payson, when Ben and I were talking and all the sudden we both see the ELK in the road!!! I don't remember much, but I'm sure I yelled to Ben and he slammed on his brakes. And while Ben was on the brakes, the elk not even noticing us slowly crosses the road, I couldn't believe it! Ben was doing all he could to not hit the Elk, but THANK GOODNESS, we missed it only by a few feet. That was a rush for both of us, since neither of us have ever been that close to hitting a deer or an elk! Ben said later that while he was slamming on the brakes, he was thinking that there was not more he could do to stop from hitting the elk, but if we did hit, we would be stocked up on elk meat!!! (Earlier in the day, we had been talking about how he had put in for the elk hunt and he hopes that he gets drawn so we could get an elk rack and meat.) Such a funny thing to think about when we're about to hit an elk!

Ok, the tag...

My husband is famous!

About 2 weeks ago, Field & Stream (Magazine) posted the top 50 pictures for the month of February. Ben is the 11th spot of 50! Here is the link to the picture:

Also, and more importantly, Ben was interviewed by an Arizona Republic Newspaper journalist about some gun bills and... His picture is on the front page of the Arizona Republic!!! Here is the link to the article (they quoted him towards the end of the article and the picture is to the right of the article):

Hollywood & Santa Monica Beach (Day 3)

We went to Hollywood, because I wanted to get a picture of the Hollywood Sign and Ben wanted to see the stars on the ground. Unfortunately, the picture below is the best picture that I got of the Hollywood Sign (its right underneath the Fountain street sign). Everytime I did see it better, we were moving to fast for me to get a picture. But oh well! I still got my picture :-).

Here's me with Julie Andrews's prints in front the Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Ben with Clint Eastwood...
We, of course, had to take a picture of Harrison Ford's since we just saw him the day before. :-D
Ben and I both thought this one was cool of Shirley Temple's... Look what year it was done! ('35)
Ben specifically wanted to see James Dean's Star. We had asked some guy that work in front of the theatre why Dean didn't do a print and apparantly he had died right before he supposed to do it.

We went to Santa Monica Beach, since it had been a long time that either Ben or I had been to the beach. It was beautiful and nice weather that day (although the water was cold of course :-)). It was fun to relax there for a bit, especially after 2 very busy days at Disneyland.

We had so much fun in California! We were so glad to take that vacation (it was very much needed!). After we left California that day, we went to Flagstaff and stayed with Ben's parents for a few days. It was nice to visit and hang out with his parents. I love seeing them, they are such great people, and I'm so lucky to have married into that family.

California Adventure (Day 2)

On our second day, we were privileged with seeing a CELEBRITY! We were soo excited that we got to see

Harrison Ford!

This was the best picture that we were able to get of him. But it was kinda funny how we saw him. Ben and I were waiting in line for a ride and this guy start walking through the exit to the front of the ride and at first I was kinda mad that someone got to go straight to the front, and then that's when Ben said "Hey I think that's Harrison Ford" and I looked again and said "No... He's too skinny to be Ford!" Then he started walking back through the exit line and I realized it WAS Ford and told Ben "Getyourcameraout! Getyourcameraout! GETYOURCAMERA!" (as I'm hitting Ben to get his attention) :-).

The first day at Disneyland, Ben wanted some Cotton Candy, but he was going to wait until later in the day to get it. When he finally decided he wanted some, we looked all over Disneyland, but they were OUT! Crazy huh! So when we went to California Adventure the second day, Ben was ecstatic when he saw the cotton candy!

Here we are in front of Hollywood Tower at the beginning of the day. I really wanted to ride this first thing because I heard so many good things about it. But the line was way too long (75-90 minutes). So we decided to wait.

This was when we were on the Sun Wheel. We got one of the swinging ones, it was fun. Its soo cool to see all of Disneyland and California Adventure when you're at the top.

We finally went back to Hollywood Tower and gave in to standing in line for a long time (we tried to get fast passes, but they were all out by the time we got to it :-/). Ben took a nap in line, it was so long. (j/k!) The 3rd picture down, was when we were finally inside waiting in line again (we thought that once you were inside, that was the ride... We were pretty disappointed). I think that the camera on the ride should've taken a picture earlier in the ride when we were actually screaming, but its still all fun!

This was the ride Grizzly River Run. It was pretty much night time when we got to it and started to get a bit chilly (we were there at the beginning of February) . We didn't want to get wet so we wore ponchos!! Smart huh!?

Ben's favorite ride at California adventure was... CALIFORNIA SCREAMIN'. (I'm thinking he would've liked Six Flags better, so we'll have to go there next time...). In the first picture, Ben and I both look like dorks... In the 2nd picture, we pretended to be asleep :-D. ZzZzZz...

We had so much fun at California Adventure on the 2nd day. There definitely some PROs and CONs without the family. It was nice to not have to be on anybody else's schedule, but we missed the company of our family.

DISNEYLAND (Day 1)

This was Ben's first time at Disneyland ever! So I thought I would take a picture of him before his Disneyland ride... Space Mountain. We decided to do something cute for the picture that they take of you while you're on the ride!

After looking at all the pictures and thinking back, I think our family's favorite ride was... Splash Mountain. We all had fun doing things for the pictures. And apparantly we all liked getting wet too, haha! Some of us got soaked! Especially the ones sitting in the front.

There were soo many pictures that we took and I wanted to put on here, but I did limit, even it still seems like a lot of pictures on here. The next ones are some of the other rides we were on... Buzz Lightyear... Matterhorn... etc.

Here are random pictures of Ben and I throughout the day. In the 3rd picture down, Ben and I were sticking out our stomach to see who's was bigger... coughBencough. :-)

The next pictures are of my family and us hanging out with a little down time in between rides. Don't you love our BLUE SHIRTS!? Several people mentioned to us while in line that they had seen us all over Disneyland ;-).

We had so much fun with our family! We were sad that we only got one day with them (they were there the day before, but Ben and I couldn't make it out in time).
On to Day 2...
